Werner Otto GmbH

Düth 40, Hameln, Niedersachsen [Lower Saxony], Germany | Waste Management

The company was founded in 1951 by Heinz Otto in Hameln as a haulage company. The German economic miracle moved the entrepreneur Otto to become active in the construction industry in 1961 and a mobile excavator 'Atlas 1200' was started.

When the extensive old town renovations began in Hameln in 1970, the company was already recognized as a specialist demolition company. In 1980 the company began recycling construction waste as a consistent further development of the original ideas. A new business area is created that is still profitable to this day.

The years 1986/88 mark the generation change. Werner Otto GmbH is founded. The recycling area is decisively strengthened by the 33,000 m² site on the Düth, acquired in 1989.

The increasing demand made it necessary to expand the site to 50,000 m² in 1992 and to add the adjacent gravel pit. The company's catchment area extends to Hanover, Hildesheim, Holzminden, Höxter, Detmold, Lemgo, Herford and Minden. From 2000 one can say that the business area includes the whole of northern Germany.

In 2005 the company took over the sand, gravel and clay pits, as well as the soil and rubble landfill in Helpensen, west of Hameln. The first long-front demolition excavator is purchased.

The following years were marked by strong expansion, so that in 2010 the site at the Düth was expanded again by 20,000 square meters. New construction machines expand the machine park in order to cope with all tasks.
