Build on the experience of three generations

Over three generations, the requirements and needs of our customers have become second nature to us. Founded in Mönchengladbach in 1928, Otto Stops GmbH & Co. KG was a partner to the entire construction industry from the very beginning. After the war, Otto Stops jun. on specialization: dismantling, recycling, environmentally friendly waste separation and the reuse of dismantled materials supplemented the previous range of services with earthworks, demolition and demolition work as well as soil remediation.

Today we offer you an even more extensive portfolio of services for everything to do with the construction site. With our own recycling facilities, our own container service and our own depots, we create space for the future - for you and your construction project.

History

In 1928 Otto Stops sen. the enterprise. In the first few years, customers - mainly from the textile, coal and construction industries - were still supplied with horse-drawn vehicles.

After 1933, companies in the textile industry no longer fired their steam engines with lignite, but switched to hard coal. Otto Stops invested in the first truck for the transport. The Stops company now supplied the region's textile factories and coal traders with them. At the beginning of the Second World War ten trailer trains were already in use, but the Wehrmacht commandeered them except for two.

In the post-war years, wife Cäcilie Stops continued the business alone, because company founder Otto Stops sen. did not return home from captivity until 1948. After his return, the vehicle fleet was quickly expanded with used trucks from Wehrmacht stocks, but also with brand-new vehicles.

A little later the first excavator was purchased and so more and more mobile machines and systems followed over the years to carry out earthworks and demolition work in Mönchengladbach and the surrounding area.
