Olyns was created as a response to a simple question: What's wrong with the world of recycling?

The search for an answer revealed not only depressing facts and figures but also people the all around the World who have dedicated themselves to finding a solution to a complex and multi-faceted problem. A problem of mis-aligned incentives, non-existent infrastructure and serious confusion.

The good news, and there is good news, is that much of the plastics that we either landfill, incinerate or drop into oceans can be recycled into new beverage containers or other valuable items. And although the demand is there, the supply of good, clean feedstock has not kept up for many reasons.

Research tells us that we need new ways to provide convenience, incentives and collection logistics to provide a new paradigm in beverage bottle collection. This is how Olyns came into being.
