Bremen Concrete Works Friedrich Thielen
At Industriehafen 49 , Bremen, Bremen, Germany | Wood Recycling
In 1947, Friedrich-Georg Thielen († June 11, 1993) founded the Bremen concrete works Friedrich Thielen , at that time still under the name Bremer Platten- und Schnellbauwerke, on a leasehold property of the city of Bremen.
Three years later it was renamed Bremen Betonwerk Friedrich Thielen in 1950. (Production of own concrete products stopped since 1990)
In 1991 his son Friedrich-Carl Thielen joined the company and redesigned the Bremen concrete plant. To this end, he set up a building materials trade, BVG THIELEN + MEYER, in cooperation with Hagebau. For this he built new halls, storage areas and office buildings. A few years later, an Irish public company made a takeover offer. However, Mr. Friedrich-Carl Thielen refused this and left the later BauKing AG.
After the end of the cooperation with Hagebau and its partners, Mr. Friedrich-Carl Thielen used the company's resources for a successful restart.
The in-house weighbridge for trucks and a port facility made it possible to handle gravel and bulk goods as well as raw materials for the cement and concrete industry by truck and inland waterway vessels.
After his son Jens Thielen (grandson of Friedrich-Georg Thielen) joined the family business, it was decided to rent out the available hall and storage space.
In 2011 the decision was made to buy the property. The leased property from the post-war period in 1947 became the property of the Thielen family.
There are currently several companies on the site that have rented space from Bremer Betonwerk Friedrich Thielen. Among other things, container packing is carried out on the property, machine parts are stored in the halls, a shipping company has set up shop there and raw materials for the cement and concrete industry are still being handled.
Pallet trading - buying and selling of used pallets in Bremen
Since January 2014, the family business, through Mr. Jens Thielen , has added a pallet trade for the purchase and sale of used pallets. Used pallets are bought, sorted and recycled here. Intact pallets are returned to industry and shipping. That saves raw materials and the environment.
Pallets which are no longer suitable for further use are forwarded to specialist companies in order to repair them professionally or to saw them into firewood for the fireplace at home.
The Friedrich Thielen concrete works in Bremen also has one of the largest solar systems in Bremen on its roofs, and thus up to 140 households are supplied with environmentally friendly green electricity from solar energy.
