History

1980 - The foundation

Karola Schaab lays the foundation stone for today's Schaab GmbH & Co. KG and UMTEC GmbH & Co. KG with the establishment of a 'one-man company' for earthworks and haulage work. The first employee was her husband Günter Schaab, who worked as a subcontractor for various companies. Shortly after the company was founded, the first machines of its own are put into operation, for example a truck and an excavator.

1984 - expansion

In 1984 the previous sole proprietorship was merged into the newly founded Schaab GmbH. Under the management of the managing director Günter Schaab, a plot of land is acquired in the Alzenau industrial area and built with storage and office space. The move into the new company building followed a year later. The former 'one-man company' is developing more and more into a specialist company for filling stations and sewage systems as well as for environmental protection and construction work.

1988 - environmental protection and restoration

In this year Schaab GmbH takes over the construction business from Hermann Röll from Königshofen, the father of company founder Karola Schaab. The more and more frequent confrontations with environmental damage and the resulting renovations lead to the establishment of an independent company in the same year, which deals exclusively with environmental protection and the remediation of environmental damage. UMTEC GmbH will be run as a subsidiary of Schaab from now on.

1994 - Günther Schaab dies

Günther Schaab died unexpectedly and much too early on September 27, 1994. Since then, Thorsten Schaab, son of the founding couple, has been running the two companies Schaab GmbH and UMTEC GmbH.

2004 - Construction of the sorting hall

A sorting hall for household and bulky waste is being built on the company premises in Siemensstrasse. In addition to the container service, UMTEC GmbH now also offers its customers the professional disposal of bulky or problematic waste at favorable conditions.

2007 - Expansion of our range of renovation services

To protect the environment, we offer you the renovation of separator systems and shafts. In the field of trenchless sewer rehabilitation, we offer our customers tailor-made and economical complete solutions from a single source using a combination of proven and innovative repair techniques.

2018 - Construction of a new warehouse

For reasons of space, a new warehouse was built in 2018. The associated area of ​​almost 7000m³ was fenced in and paved.

UMTEC GmbH & Co. KG today

We go down to business with commitment. Modern systems and a high-tech fleet with special vehicles for environmental protection are used by more than 60 employees in the interests of satisfied customers.

In addition to the vehicle hall, the waste sorting hall, the workshop and the offices, our 24,000 m² company premises also contain a tank farm approved according to the Federal Immission Control Act for the interim storage of waste that requires special monitoring and a treatment plant for grease separator contents that is approved according to the recycling status.

The previous Schaab GmbH and UMTEC GmbH will be converted into the corporate form 'GmbH & Co. KG' in 2006. The managing director of Schaab Verwaltungs GmbH is Thorsten Schaab.
