Kälberer Group - From Horse-Drawn Carriage To Modern Transport Company

Since 1909, Kälberer has grown from a simple horse-drawn company to the modern transport company of today - over three generations, with an extensive range of services and customer-oriented services throughout the Göppingen district.

A company in an old tradition

More than 100 years ago, Jakob Kälberer laid the foundation stone for today's medium-sized company with his horse and cart. Back then, wood and coal were still transported with the help of horses. Today you can find horsepower under the hood of over 30 modern trucks. The vehicle fleet ranges from large articulated lorries and dump trucks to container handlers.

With the purchase of the first truck in 1936, the company began transporting vehicles by vehicle. The services have always been adapted to changes in the market over the years. Out of a long family tradition, Helmut Kälberer took over his father's business in 1970. At the beginning it was a pure transport company for bulk goods due to the lack of storage facilities, but with the acquisition of the property in the Schelmenwasen industrial park in Süßen in 1970, other work areas were added. In addition to building materials and concrete products, natural stone, waste disposal, container service and scrap recycling could now also be offered. In 1988, the property of the old brickworks at Geyrenwald in Ottenbach was acquired in order to create more space for the natural stone and concrete goods area.

In 2009 Cornelia Kälberer took over the business from her father Helmut Kälberer. With their son Marcus, who completed a degree in industrial engineering in 2012 after completing his training as a motor vehicle mechatronics technician, the fourth generation is already in the company to continue innovating into the future.

H. Kälberer GmbH today offers jobs for over 50 employees. The company is divided into a total of four separate business areas. These independent branches of the company are known as the 'Kälberer Group'. These are the areas of transport , building materials , natural stones and disposal .
