ImpulsTec GmbH is a high-tech company based in Radebeul engaged in the construction and marketing of pulsed-power systems and components for high-voltage pulse technology.

The core business of ImpulsTec is the construction and sales of industrial shock-wave systems for material fragmentation and recycling. In addition to the construction of shock wave fragmentation systems, ImpulsTec offers its customers a range of support services for these systems, such as process development or the application of the fragmentation technology on special materials. ImpulsTec works together with different national and international partners in the fields of high-voltage technology, mechanical process and processing technology, and is embedded into a network of corresponding companies and research institutes in this area.

History

ImpulsTec GmbH is the result of many years of research activities that took place in an R&D company within a larger photovoltaic group.

Based on the non-contact and phase-selective fragmentation of various silicon qualities and their starting materials, many areas of application of the shock wave fragmentation technology developed. These no longer remained only in the field of photovoltaics, but spread to a wide range of industries. These include, for example, recycling, mining, metallurgy and materials research. In 2014, these activities were finally consolidated into an independent company exclusively dedicated to industrial application of the developed of the shock wave fragmentation technology: ImpulsTec GmbH.
