Bruno Hoefs Gmbh & Co Kg
Am Fieseler Werk 4, Lohfelden, Hessen, Germany | Waste Management
The Bruno Hoefs company was founded on May 2, 1953 as a local freight transport company by the businessman Bruno Hoefs in Lohfelden - initially with a five-ton truck. He used it to transport bulk goods and building materials in the Kassel area.
At the end of 1953, a vehicle hall with a workshop was built on the company property. In the years that followed, the transport operation was constantly expanded, and in 1956 the development of two sand pits in Lohfelden and Vollmarshausen began. With this, the company expanded its offer to include the extraction, processing and delivery of various building sands for civil engineering. This required the acquisition of various construction machines and screening plants.
In April 1958, in addition to Lohfelden-Vollmarshausen, a third sand pit from the municipality of Oberkaufungen was taken over. Furthermore, a smaller office building was built on the company premises in the same year. In the meantime there were around 14 employees in the company.
Due to the demand in industrial construction, as well as in private housing, the company was expanded in 1963 to include the rental of earth-moving machines and the independent execution of earthworks. The gravel trade was also started that year. This business area required the renting of an approx. 6,000 m2 storage space in the Waldau industrial area.
The operational expansion made it necessary to expand the hall and office on the company premises in Lohfelden in mid-1964.
In February 1966 the company took over an existing gravel pit in Braach, Hersfeld-Rotenburg, which was exploited until 1978.
On November 29, 1973, the founder's son joined the company and the company was converted into a general partnership. Shortly before the company's founder died in 1977, the Bruno Hoefs OHG was converted into a GmbH u.Co KG and has remained in this company name to this day.
After the death of the company founder in August 1977, the son Manfred Hoefs took over the business after completing his studies as an engineer (grad.). The successor continued to expand the company. The company focuses on the implementation of all work in civil engineering and the disposal of soil, rubble and construction waste. In 1978 it was necessary to set up the company premises on a larger storage area in Lohfelden, Am Fieseler Werk. A workshop and warehouse with social rooms was built and put into operation on the company premises in 1979. The future of our company is secured through the cooperation of our sons in the company.
Since 1989 the company has been dealing with the installation and disposal of construction site containers in both the commercial and the private sector. At the beginning of 1993, a mobile building rubble processing plant was purchased, which is used on various construction sites in Hesse, Thuringia and Saxony.
We started in 1995 by tightening up the laws in the environmental sector. by purchasing a mobile screening plant to process contaminated soils and to send these masses to the approved landfills or processing plants for further treatment
