ALTEX Textil-Recycling GmbH & Co. KG

The history of the ALTEX Group leads us back to 1936. With a traveling trade license in his pocket and a “Packfiets”, Bernhard Stienemann senior traded in scrap metals, skins and all kinds of waste. The first cornerstone for recycling as we do it today was laid.

In 1951 his son Günter Stienemann joined the company. Together with his wife Helga, they refined and specialized in the collection, sorting and processing of the materials for targeted reintroduction into the market.

In 1975 ALTEX Gronauer Filz GmbH & Co. KG was founded. Under the direction of Bernhard Stienemann junior, the company specialized in needle felt manufacture and continuously developed products from carpets to geotextiles to special nonwovens, e.g. for the automotive industry.

In 1989 ALTEX Textil Recycling GmbH & Co. KG was founded. With Karsten Stienemann as managing director and a strong team behind him, the production capacity was further expanded.

Through the consistent development of new products, the customer base in the most diverse areas of industry, such as automotive suppliers, fleece / needle felt production, home textiles, etc., has been expanded. At the same time, ALTEX Faser + Garn GmbH & Co. KG was founded, which offers half-worsted yarns for the carpet industry and special yarns for manufacturers of technical fabrics and ropes. Today the company no longer operates separately, but also under the name ALTEX Textil Recycling GmbH & Co. KG.

Thanks to short communication channels within the group of companies, product developments can be effectively implemented and market movements can be reacted to quickly. Our customers generally benefit from years of experience in the various production areas.
