Sandgrube Laux GmbH in Niederlosheim is a family company founded in 1880 that now not only offers its sand products, but also a variety of other materials for house and horticulture and various services.

The product range mainly includes sand, gravel and crushed stone products. Under its own brand 'Steinakzente', the company sells numerous chippings, decorative gravel, gabion stones, design stones and boulders, as well as topsoil, potting soil, grave soil, bark mulch and compost soil.

The company's services include earthworks, demolition work, transport, and landfilling of earth and rubble.

History

The company was founded in 1880 by Matthias Laux as a haulage business with 6 draft horses. In 1940 son Josef Laux took over the business and in 1945 his son Engelbert Laux.

Under the management of Engelbert Laux, the first truck was purchased in 1954 and the business gradually switched to pure engine power. When it was converted into a GmbH, Valentin Laux joined the company as a partner and managing director in 1977.

In 1992 the previous company was split into two companies; Engelbert Laux GmbH, which was active in long-distance transport for a long time, and today's Sandgrube Laux GmbH with the managing directors Herbert and Valentin Laux. In 2009 Valentin Laux retired from active management and left it to the next generation, his grandson Thomas Laux. To this day, in addition to transport, landfill and sand pit operations, Sandgrube Laux GmbH has gradually expanded its business areas to include natural stone trading, dredging and winter service.
