Company history

Founding

years 1947 - 1959 The company is founded in 1947 by Mr. August Bock as a trading company and repair workshop for two-wheeled vehicles based in Ufhausen.

As a further mainstay, two trucks with self-made wood gasifiers with 75 HP (for comparison: over 500 HP in 2000) for trenching work and an ATLAS excavator on a reinforced Opel Blitz chassis are already in use.

Years 1960 - 1965

In the 1960s, the company changed to the structures we know today, e. B. by acquiring the first own lime gravel quarry. The lime gravel material obtained there is delivered to municipalities, forest administrations and road construction companies

1965the A7 Hattenbach-Würzburg motorway construction is one of the largest construction projects in the region. In order to meet this challenge, a MAGIRUS dump truck and a CAT crawler loader are purchased.

Years 1970 - 1979

In the 1970s, Mr. August Bock's son, Mr. Karl-Heinz Bock, joined the company as a partner. Since 1979 he has acted as managing director of the company now called August Bock & Sohn.

Years 1980 - 1989

In the 1980s the company's headquarters are relocated to Hünfeld. At this point in time, there was a significant expansion of the operation, which became necessary due to the delivery of building materials to the German Federal Railroad (Schnellbahn construction section Fulda Aua).

Years 1990-1999

After the opening of the border, several companies are incorporated as subsidiaries and other companies are newly founded. Demolition and dismantling work as well as the professional disposal of contaminated materials are included in the range of services as a new area of ​​work.

Years 2000 - 2009

On October 1st 2001 the son of Mr. Karl-Heinz Bock, Mr. Andreas Bock, joins the company. The company August Bock & Sohn is renamed a GmbH & Co. KG.

In November 2002 our company founder Mr. August Bock died.

Since July 4th, 2008 Mr. Andreas Bock has been the managing director. Turnkey construction and structural work in the industrial sector are additional services.

2010 and following years

On October 23, 2012, Mr. Karl-Heinz Bock, who has been managing and developing our company as the 2nd generation of the company's managing director since 1979, passed away. August Bock & Sohn GmbH & Co. KG currently employs around 150 people in various companies. As a family company in the 3rd generation, it continues to meet the demands of today's market.

Current

In the last few years the company has been able to acquire various certificates, which prove the existing professional competence. The RAL quality mark 'AK2 sewer construction' was acquired by the quality association 'Manufacture and maintenance of drainage channels'.
