Company history

The company's founder, Karl Fischer senior, began trading base metals around 1918. Together with his sons Karl Fischer jun. and Emil Fischer was entered in the commercial register on August 16, 1948, the Karl Fischer & Sons OHG.

The traditional company in Heidingsfeld - always firmly in the 'Fischer family hands' - continued to grow, and on July 1, 1970 WÜRO Papierverwertung GmbH & Co. KG, founded by Siegfried Fischer and Mr Walter Trapp, was added. The steadily increasing volume of waste paper, scrap metals and other secondary raw materials made it necessary for both companies to move to larger premises in 1974, the current company headquarters at Winterhäuser Straße 108.

On December 3, 1979 Siegfried Fischer founded Fischer GmbH. The object of the company is the disposal and recycling of all types of waste, as well as the transport of hazardous waste and used tires. On the initiative of Siegfried Fischer, the first public special waste auction was held on June 4th 1983 on the cattle market square in Würzburg. The success was resounding - the city of Würzburg then introduced the monthly collection of problematic household waste.

Due to the rapid increase in the area of ​​hazardous waste, the 'old' company premises quickly became too cramped again - in the summer of 1986 the new halls and an open space, which was generous at that time, were completed and occupied. In July 1989, part of the company premises became the exhibition grounds. Karl Fischer & Söhne organizes the first private special waste fair in Würzburg.

On January 1, 1991, the name was changed to Karl Fischer & Söhne GmbH & Co. KG. Siegfried Fischer and his son Jürgen Fischer were appointed as managing directors . In 1997, Karl Fischer & Söhne GmbH & Co. KG was the first Bavarian company to be certified as a waste management company. Since then, compliance with this standard has been repeatedly confirmed to us in annual audits. Further certifications follow, including as a WHG 19 l specialist company. The Fischer family has built up a business over generations that offers an almost unique range of services in this region!
