History
- 'A life for scrap'
In 1920 Adolf Löbl sen. Rented a scrapyard in Chemnitz and thus founded the parent company Adolf Löbl.
His son Adolf Löbl jun. emigrated from the former GDR to Bremen in 1957. In order to catch up with his wife and sons Ulrich and Bernd , he earned his living by collecting scrap and scrap metal and old clothes. At first everything was collected with handcarts and stored in Bremen Hemelingen on Bellmer Strasse. The rest of the family came to Bremen in time for the wall to be built.
In 1960, a plot of land in Verden / Aller was rented from the Kleinbahn. There the business grew with the support of the two sons. More and more trucks were purchased for collecting and the first presses were bought for processing the scrap.
In 1974 the property on Max-Planck-Strasse in Verden was acquired. The first large scrap shears were built on this larger area. Excavators were bought and several employees were hired.
In 1988 Verden was too tight. The removal of the scrap is becoming increasingly difficult. Therefore, a plot of land in Hemelingen was bought in Bremen . With inland shipping and rail connections, an area of 10,000 square meters was initially paved, and a shredder system and 600 tons of shears were installed. Ulrich and Bernd Löbl expanded the company bit by bit. Today the company has a floor space of 34,000 square meters and the most modern and powerful technology. The juniors Tanja & Stefan Löbl have been involved with the company since childhood . It was natural that they would continue the “legacy” of their grandparents and parents.
In 1992, a long-established Bremen company Kiesche & Glänke was bought, which is still doing small-scale purchases and waste disposal for us today .
In 2011 the family business was handed over from senior to juniors. Stefan Löbl and Tanja Mackensen are now the fourth generation of scrap dealers. Fortunately, you are supported professionally and privately by your partners Marina Löbl and Jens Mackensen. The Adolf Löbl Rohstoffbetriebe GmbH & Co. KG is a family company that has developed from the smallest beginnings into a large, medium-sized company.
