Metaalhandel Hoebeke has been active in the metal recycling industry since 1926.
We specialize in the collection of scrap iron and metals. As a company or private individual, you can contact us to offer your ferrous & non-ferrous materials.

If desired, we can load the scrap iron at your location. There is also the possibility that we place a container. These containers are placed free of charge and exchanged or taken back at the request of the customer.

Our history

In 1926 Klaas Hoebeke (Nickname de Tobber) started collecting iron, rags and bones, because his current work as a cockle digger in the Eastern Scheldt was canceled due to rheumatism. During that time he drove the dog cart past the doors to pick up things. His son Anton (Nickname of the Tobber) continued the work and built up a steady clientele of companies and individuals. When Anton got older and wanted to divest the larger companies, Anton's cousin Kees Hoebeke came up with the idea to continue the business. Kees, previously working as a mechanic at a mussel company, saw his opportunity to further expand the metal trade. First a location was rented in 1994, then the company moved to a piece of its own agricultural land, where it was tolerated.

In 2000, as a result of increasingly strict environmental requirements, a piece of building land was bought on the industrial estate, this is also the current location. At the time, son Rinie joined the business and with the help of friends and family, a shed was welded together and erected. 

This was the last step towards setting up the company in the crab and metal trade Hoebeke is now a household name in Yerseke and the surrounding area. We often hear from customers that we are the nicest metal trade in Zeeland.
