Our history

At the end of the 1970s, Julien Vandendriessche and Rosa Verbeke did not expect that their signature for the first truck with a container hook system would have such far-reaching consequences. The various company sites for the activities that sprouted from that first signature now cover approximately 5 hectares, spread across Staden and Ypres.

1978. First truck

The first truck mainly transported containers for the frozen industry. The booming business of the frozen companies justified the investment in more and more transport equipment for Julien and Rosa.

1995. Bvba Westcompost

In 1995 Westcompost bvba was founded. The composting then moved to the industrial estate in Ypres. Transport and recycling of green waste became important activities.

1998. First mobile crushing plant for recycling green waste

In 1998 we bought our first mobile crushing plant for recycling green waste. The machine could also process wood waste into wood chips. As a result, the first contacts with the chipboard industry were made. Wood waste processing was very successful. This activity became more and more important.

2004. NV Wood recycling Vandendriessche

A semi-open shed is being built on the site next to Westcompost bvba. In addition to green waste, we can now also accept and process wood waste in Ypres.

2017. Mobile crusher on crawlers

The purchase of the mobile crusher Morbark on crawlers is an important investment. This powerful and flexible machine can be used to process large capacities.
