Lavaert Group

Triloystraat 43, Rekkem, West-Vlaanderen, Belgium | Multi-Material Recycling

At the end of the 1960s, the Lavaert brothers started their activities as contractors. In addition to sowing and harvesting beet and maize, they started in 1974 with earthworks and demolition works and their own container service. Due to the demolition works and the container service, the company came into daily contact with construction waste. The Lavaert company was then located in Rekkem, but in 1982 it was opted for an additional location, the old brickyard in Lauwe.

The Lavatra company was founded there and was responsible for the operation of a class III dump. A first set-up of our recycling line was put into service in the mid-1980s. Today the second version of the recycling line is in use. In addition to recycling construction and demolition waste, Lavatra also composts green waste.

Recycling experienced enormous growth, which is why the new branch in Mouscron was started up in 1995.

With Lavano we not only have an extra recycling department in Wallonia, but also our own stable power plant.

A few years ago the company Dematrans was taken over, it will now also be included in the Lavaert group under the name Lavagro. Lavagro will mainly focus on groundwork and demolition works.
