History

1907

In May 1907 our company was founded under the company name HCW Ehlert - Abbruchunternehmen. The founder is Heinrich Ehlert, whose brother and father also joined the company a short time later. As a result, the company got its name, which is still valid today: H. Ehlert & Sons. Even then, the operational focus was on the demolition and evacuation of private properties and factories as well as the processing and sale of the removed material.

1914

At the beginning of the First World War, Heinrich Ehlert and his brother Wilhelm were drafted into the military and assigned to France. The father runs the company in the absence of his sons and is largely on his own. While Heinrich returned in 1918, he and his father had to mourn the death of their brother Wilhelm. You take over the joint management of the company and bring it to a new peak in the post-war years.

1918

The business, which flourished again after the end of the war, is expanded further. In the course of the development, Theodor Ehlert, Heinrich's younger brother, and Martin Nolte, who is his brother-in-law, join the company and actively support father and son in the expansion of H. Ehlert & Sons.

1928

The prosperous company developed excellently at this time. Heinrich Ehlert's brother-in-law Friedrich Strauch joins the company as co-owner. He brings in additional capital to help the company expand. The result is a significant expansion of capacity and an increase in operational success.

1938-1945

During the Second World War, H. Ehlert & Söhne had to struggle with considerable problems. In the first year of the war, the company moves to the new property at Grevenweg 121 to reorganize. After the peace treaty in 1945, Friedrich Strauch continued to run the company, which was slowly recovering. With Heinz and Wilfried Ehlert and Günter Nolte, there are young people at his side. They are the sons of the previous co-entrepreneurs.

1958

After Friedrich Strauch died in 1952, his son Friedemann took over responsibility for his father's former company following his legal training. Together with Heinrich Ehlert jun. he succeeds in making the demolition sector a success again and in building on the tradition of H. Ehlert & Söhne, which has now lasted for half a century.

1996

The sons Friedemann Strauch, Matthias and Christian, as well as his son-in-law Hartmut Pieper join the company. They should take over the fate in the long term and ensure the success of the family business in the long term.

2004

The managing directors of H. Ehlert & Söhne GmbH & Co. KG, who are still active today, take over the helm following the retirement of Friedemann Strauch from the company and have since been primarily responsible for all areas.

2007

The big celebration, which is celebrated on the occasion of the company's centenary, is crowned by the move to the new company premises at Sorbenstrasse 50, on which the office and workshop buildings are being built from scratch and which offers the right setting for a successful future.

2012
