Edelchemie Benelux BV

Edelchemie Benelux BV is a Belgian family business specialized in the collection, processing and valorisation of hazardous waste from various industrial production processes.

History

Edelchemie Benelux was founded in 1992 under the name Edelchemie België BV. In the beginning, the main activities were limited to the collection and bulking of photographic waste.

With the move to the current location on the Rotem industrial estate in Dilsen-Stokkem, more space became available for expanding the activities with its own processing installation for the treatment of photographic waste baths.

After the advance of digital photography, the focus shifted to the collection and processing of other metallic chemical waste.

Edelchemie Benelux is currently licensed for the transport and collection of a very wide range of waste materials in Belgium, the Netherlands and Luxembourg. In addition, it has an extensive environmental permit for the storage / transhipment and processing of hazardous and non-hazardous waste.

Activities

Current activities include:

• transport and collection of hazardous and non-hazardous waste (BE, NL, LU);
• storage / transhipment and bulk storage of hazardous and non-hazardous waste;
• physico-chemical treatment of liquids;
• recovery of metals from metallic liquids;
• recovery and refining of liquids and solids containing precious metals;
• processing of ammonium and nitrate-rich waste materials;
• distillation and thermal recovery of contaminated solvents / inks / paint residues, etc. (via specialized partners)

Mission Statement

Edelchemie aims to find a recycling solution for every waste material offered.
In the processing of these waste materials, chemicals and energy are used as optimally as possible by, among other things, using waste reagents (waste-to-waste) and by reusing reaction heat.
