WEV mbH

The tasks of the WEV primarily include the operation of plants for the recovery and disposal of private as well as commercial municipal waste. The activities of the WEV are based on the specifications of the Waste Management Westsachsen special purpose association, which implements waste management concepts for the Leipzig district and the city of Leipzig.

The central landfill Cröbern Betriebs-GmbH, as the legal predecessor of WEV, was founded with the aim of operating the landfills in Leipzig Seehausen, Groitzsch-Wischstauden and Cröbern. After the partial privatization, the MBA Cröbern was added in 2005 in order to guarantee the security of disposal of household and bulky waste even after the change in landfill law.

The WEV enables the ZAW to meet the municipalities' disposal obligations for private household and bulky waste. In addition to long-term aftercare for the landfills, WEV also ensures that waste disposal is future-proof - in the interests of the citizens.
