PDR is the specialist for material recycling of used products and production residues. With innovative technologies and intelligent services, we achieve an optimum of material recycling. Together with our customers, we feed the obtained products back into the production cycle in a resource-saving manner.

Origin and development

PDR was founded in 1993 as an association of European PU foam can manufacturers. The aim was a Germany-wide industry solution for the return and recycling of used PU foam cans. The basis for this is the Recycling Act (KrWG) and the Packaging Act (VerpackG), which classify used PU foam cans as hazardous waste and stipulate recycling. The industry solution has been successfully established on the market for over 25 years. With its sophisticated process technology, PDR achieves a recycling rate of over 95%. The products obtained go back into the production cycle.

PDR has been a European partner of Hewlett-Packard (HPI) for the recycling of HPI printer cartridges since 2002. These are sorted and separated according to type in order to guarantee a high level of purity of the raw materials and products recovered. In a multi-stage recycling process, PDR recovers precious metals, high-quality plastics and steel. In this area, too, we achieve a recovery rate of over 95%.

The basis and goal of our work is the protection of the environment. We are committed to Agenda 21 for sustainable development and in particular to Chapter 30 with its requirements for environmentally-related management.

With innovative environmental technology, we actively contribute to conserving resources and protecting the climate. Compliance with the law is a matter of course for us. Wherever this is technically possible and economically justifiable, we do more to achieve this goal than is required of us.

Out of responsibility, we use our experience to design operations and processes in such a way that the health and safety of our employees are protected and we can rule out harmful influences on people and the environment.
