Tricycle times

Hubert Herzog , the father of the current owner, H. Herzog (jun.) , Lays the first stone and founds the Herzog company as a scrap dealer and car recycler. He first drives through the streets with a 'tricycle' to make a living.

1963

Leibnizstrasse

Rented a site on Leibnizstrasse to give the business a permanent location. It should soon be too small ...

1967

At Speick train station

Rented the premises of the Bundesbahn “Am Bahnhof Speick”. Final start of operations as a scrap trade. In the first few years, the business was run from an old wagon. If you still talk to H. Herzog's sons and daughters today, they'll tell you about this special “office” with shining eyes. You worked in your father's company at a young age and learned the business from scratch.

1978

H. Herzog KG

Operations on the site have been relocated and expanded again and again. This year, after Hubert Herzog passed away, the sons: Hubert Herzog (junior) and Franz-Wilhelm Herzog took over a large part of the company and founded H. Herzog KG as a pure scrap and metal trading company.

1988

Expansion

Final acquisition of the site from the possession of the German Federal Railways. The company has been consolidated and expanded continuously over the years. Temporary partnerships, investments and acquisitions from other companies are made again and again. In the course of time, the business was expanded to include the business areas of demolition , asbestos dismantling , container service and industrial dismantling .

2002

A modern family company

The company is certified as a waste management company and is allowed to dispose of special waste materials. What began as a one-man business nearly half a century ago is now the proud home of over 100 employees. The company will also remain in family hands in the future, because with Alexander and Thomas Herzog , the next generation is ready to adapt the company to the ever-changing requirements of the advancing times ...
