Avalex

Avalex was founded on April 2, 2001 by the municipalities of Leidschendam, Rijswijk and Voorburg. Avalex is a reliable partner of its municipalities in the implementation of waste collection and sustainable use of raw materials, in an environmentally conscious and social manner. With the aim of a waste-free region, by converting waste into raw materials.

Avalex's legal form is the 'joint arrangement'. This means that the participating municipalities own Avalex. On October 1, 2004, the municipality of Pijnacker-Nootdorp joined the scheme; on 1 January 2006 Wassenaar, on 1 July 2007 Delft and on 1 January 2010 Midden-Delfland. Since January 2010, the following municipalities have therefore owned Avalex. As of February 15, 2018, a new GR applies to Avalex in the form of a business management organization (GFA). Avalex is subject to tender and ISO9001 certified.

Core task: environmentally aware collection, separation and processing of waste and raw materials.

Vision: a waste-free region within the municipalities through valuable deployment and (re) use of raw materials.

Mission: Avalex is the partner of municipalities in the implementation of waste collection and sustainable use of raw materials, in an environmentally conscious and social manner.

Strategy: create optimal balance between service provision, costs and sustainability and coordinate this per municipality.

Core values: 'together,' trust ',' movement 'and' responsibility ', are widely communicated within Avalex and are a recurring theme within the activities.
