Poredo BV
De Slof 26, Dongen, Noord-Brabant, Netherlands | Plastic Recycling
History
Poredo was started in 1988 by Wilma's uncle. Wim makes leather poufs and filled them with new EPS pearls. When the price of filling material doubled in a month during an oil crisis, he went to collect the polystyrene foam from nearby white goods stores to grind it into granules in the shed with a self-built shredder.
It was not long before the technology was refined and competitors wanted to buy the recycled polystyrene foam from Wim. A new industry was born.
When Wim emigrated to Canada in 1998, Peter and Wilma de Wijs took over the company. At the time, the company was still located in the water tower of Dongen, but the building soon became too small for the growing company.
In 2004 the company switched to a new building on the Slof in the Tichelrijt industrial estate. At the time, we could not have suspected that we were already in need of expansion in 2008, in addition to the existing building, two lots were purchased and built in order to continue to grow into the future.
Who we are...
Peter, Wilma and Bart are not only connected in business but also in private life.
Our family's shared passion is the company, Poredo.
Together with the team of employees, we stand for sustainable and responsible recycling of polystyrene foam.
Every grain really gets a new destination!
EPS waste is given a new purpose
EPS (styrofoam, airpop, isomo or tempex) is a versatile plastic with many unique properties. It is extremely light, retains its shape, is safe for health and has a great insulating effect. It is not without reason that there are countless applications for this beautiful material. As waste, however, EPS is often a major problem.
Poredo collects - large and small volumes - used EPS packaging material, and then precisely recycles it into reusable granules in various sizes.
The granules that Poredo then supplies are suitable for various applications in, for example, the small furniture industry (beanbag filling), construction (tempex plates and blocks) and arable farming and horticulture (styromull).
After all, the advantages of EPS make it definitely worthwhile to reuse it for new purposes after use without loss of quality and thus relieve the burden on the environment!
Poredo is VIHB registered and an organization approved by Nedvang and is guaranteed to work according to the legal conditions.
