Wecycle

Wecycle directs the collection and recycling of discarded electrical appliances and energy-efficient lamps, in short e-waste. Through our nationwide collection network of 13,000 points, consumers and professionals can hand in e-waste for free. Together with our collection, sorting and recycling partners, we contribute to the circular economy on a daily basis. We do this for 2,000 manufacturers and importers of electrical appliances and energy-saving lamps in command of six producer organizations: Foundation FIAR CE , ICT Environmental Foundation , Foundation LightRec Netherlands , Stichting Metalektro Recycling , foundation Removal Electrical Appliances and Foundation Appliances. In 2019, we collected and recycled 116.2 million kilos of e-waste with a recovery rate of 95 percent.

Social economy

In addition to the circular economy, we also contribute to the social economy. In our Wecycle Service Centers , where equipment is sorted and dismantled, some people are active who are working on a return to the labor market. Also at the recycling companies we work with, many people find employment who find it difficult to keep up with the regular labor market.

Responsible logistics

Wecycle contracts carriers that demonstrably make efforts to improve their environmental performance, for example by reducing energy consumption and fuel savings. The transporters are certified at level 4 of the CO2 performance ladder and have or are in the process of obtaining the Lean and Green Award.

Optimal recycling

Wecycle has the collected e-waste recycled exclusively by certified processors in the Netherlands, Belgium or Germany who work exclusively in accordance with CENELEC / WEEELABEX  standards. Processors in the Netherlands includes, in addition to a series of locations where manual pre-dismantling by SROI takes place, the following mechanical processors: Coolrec , HKS Metals , Huiskes Metaal , A. Jansen Recycling and Mirec . Processor in Belgium: Indaver . Processors in Germany: Stena , Enviprotect and Remondis .
