The Paper Recycling Netherlands Foundation (PRN)

Producers and importers who place paper and cardboard products on the market are responsible for their waste management. Municipalities and businesses work together to annually recycle at least 75% of the non-packaging made of paper and cardboard that is placed on the market. They do this because of a shared responsibility for good waste management. Agreements have been made about this in the Paper Fiber Covenant.

The Paper Recycling Netherlands Foundation (PRN) implements the agreements in the Paper Fiber Covenant. The objective of PRN is to continuously keep and stimulate the collection and reuse of waste paper at the highest possible level. PRN measures the recycling of non-packaging and reports on this to the Ministry of Infrastructure and Water Management. PRN also offers a guarantee in case the recycling market does not function optimally.
