KRT, or Gebr. Timmermans has a rich history of recycling cables and metals. Our knowledge and experience have led us to develop advanced mechanical separation processes that are unique in Europe.

KRT has over 60 years of experience in recycling cables. During that time, we have built up expertise for processing fractions that are difficult to recycle, such as streams containing metal, including from car shredders and waste processing installations. Our extensive knowledge of recycling techniques has resulted in the development of advanced shredder installations. We can proudly say that we are at the forefront of our technology in Europe. KRT also has the right sorting installations for the processing of ferrous and non-ferrous metals.

With a team of approximately 60 employees, we put our heart and soul into converting your metal waste into profitable recycling flows. We work hard with a smile and that is reflected in a very low level of absenteeism. So we are productive and effective.

History

With over 60 years of experience, we have built up extensive knowledge of the processing and recycling of cables and metals. KRT was founded in 1955 by Sam and Riet Timmermans. The first twenty years were mainly spent on the execution of demolition works. For example, various vessels, such as submarines and minesweepers, were dismantled for the national government. Cable remnants were also processed by cutting, stripping and burning (of course KRT was then in possession of the necessary fire permits).

At the end of the 1970s it became known that burning cables was no longer environmentally responsible and was also bad for health. KRT then started shredding cables.

A second cable shredder was taken into operation in 1990 and in 2000 we opened a second branch at Windmolen 13 in Oud Gastel. A new, state-of-the-art shredder installation was put into use here in mid-2015.

In 2009 our new location, located at Boekerman 4 in Oud Gastel, was opened. At this 3 hectare site, mainly the processing of difficult to recycle fractions takes place.

Customers

KRT works for large European recycling companies, but also for telecom companies, cable producers, metal traders and contractors.

We have sufficient production capacity to process large-scale waste batches.
