Torbay Clearance Services was established in 1999 after realising the significant need for comprehensive, honest and professional clearance for properties. Initially we undertook valuations of the contents of properties for solicitors in probate cases.

It was our gradual realisation, along with an off the cuff remark from a solicitor saying 'nobody does the whole house clearance thing properly' that led us to found a company that seeks to undertake all aspects connected with the clearance of a property.

Very quickly, we realised the need for a calm, discreet and thorough service which focussed on integrity, and whilst reducing workload for a relative or solicitor, maximised the financial return for the estate, and met social, charitable and environmental obligations.

Last year saw the seventeenth consecutive year of growth for the company, who until now have relied entirely upon their loyal solicitor base, and word of mouth recommendation. Our clients include many firms of South Devon solicitors, many local Estate Agents, Torbay Care Trust, National Banks’ probate divisions, a national property auction company, corporate clients, and an increasing number of private customers.

Our team are directly employed. We respect the individual qualities that each member brings to our team and seek to maximise these strengths. We encourage a calm, friendly working environment, and embrace diversity.

Our team understand fully that mental health issues can lead to extreme hoarding, and deal with such clients in a sensitive and discreet way. We always respect and retain items of personal, sensitive or intrinsic value.

We specialise in covering Torbay, Teignbridge, the South Hams, also Exeter, Plymouth, and the surrounding areas. We do travel extensively outside these areas for demanding or complex cases. We have recently worked in London, Liverpool and travel throughout the UK for complex cases.

For us, Charity is not an afterthought; it is a major ethos in our way of doing business.

We firmly believe in helping others, particularly the elderly, young, vulnerable and those with mental health difficulties. We donate extensively to charities, both by donation of the significant quantity of items that clearing so many properties create, and in time and financial means also.

Recycling is of great importance to us. Not only does recycling reduce environmental impact, it also reduces cost!

We are Environment Agency Registered, and keep all records of all disposal. This means you can be assured that disposal is always undertaken within the regulations of the 2011 Environment Agency Act.

We are fully insured, with both employers and Public Liability .
