Electrotek Solutions are GDPR compliant, fully licensed and the leading IT disposal and computer recycling provider in Plymouth. We work in accordance with the WEEE Directive and Environmental legislation in the UK, providing a service to assist organisations in the safe and secure disposal of their redundant, IT, laptops, computers and other electrical equipment.

We go beyond the current WEEE legislation to provide an exemplary service whilst providing a secure data destruction solution that exceeds the highest UK standards.

Electrotek Solutions are proud to be one of only a handful of ATF's (Authorised Treatment Facilities) that operate a zero to landfill policy throughout the South West. In our computer recycling processing facility based in Plymouth we recycle and reuse every piece of computer and IT related equipment.

How do we do this? Our primary method is to Refurbish and Reuse! This enables us to donate or resell most IT equipment as this is the best form of recycling, requiring less energy and has the least environmental impact than to manufacture similar products again.

If the equipment is damaged beyond economic repair or is deemed unusable the raw materials such as precious metals, glass and plastics are reused / recycled for the  manufacture of new products.

Electrotek Solutions donate 10% of all online sales to charities nominated by our WEEE clients annually, we also regularly make donations of equipment to local charities, CIC's and organisations who find the cost of new IT equipment prohibitive.

We work closely with charities, non profits and local communities to provide IT solutions to fledging start ups, social enterprise and others who find the cost of new IT equipment prohibitive.

Electrotek Solutions are fully licensed, professional and experienced WEEE waste recyclers based in Plymouth to easily service our South West client base. We offer a flexible, fully documented and free collection schedule (weekly, fortnightly, monthly, bi-monthly) agreed with our clients, we also provide additional ad hoc collections to meet business demands or can receive your waste direct at our facility.

All assets to be recycled with serial numbers are scanned at point of collection by our uniformed & DBS checked drivers. This forms our detailed Waste Transfer Note / Asset list which is sent electronically to you before we leave your premises and accessed via our secure Client Login area. This enables our clients to maintain an accurate audit file regarding their WEEE waste and ensure compliance with regulations as well as assist with asset management in house.

Where required, all data bearing media is secured in a strongbox during transit and a robust procedure followed to ensure security to point of destruction. Within 7 to 10 working days of a collection a full Data Erasure Certificate is provided to our clients via our secure online Client Login area. The data is wiped by either Secure Erase N, HMG iS5 Enhanced or at DOD Department of Defence Standard as a minimum. All media unable to be securely wiped is destroyed via Garner Data Eliminators, then crushed and/or shredded. The level of destruction required is agreed under contract.

We believe everyone should have access to IT, so when an asset reaches its end of life with one of our clients, it is often just starting its life for another. A large proportion of the assets we recycle are refurbished and repopulated into the local community by way of charitable donations in joint partnership with our clients. Along with changing lives and making a huge difference to the charities involved, this has created some wonderful PR opportunities for our clients, as well as ensuring our clients and our own compliance with Corporate Social Responsibility.

The remainder of the equipment we receive is either fully refurbished and available for sale via our shop or is broken down into metals, glass & plastics for recycling. The sales cover our overheads enabling us to continue to provide a FREE WEEE Recycling service with Secure Data Destruction to our clients across the South West.
