History & About KM

KM Skip Hire Ltd (formerly KM Enterprises) began in 1989 when the main company focus was construction, joinery and site clearance utilising a J.C.B. wheeled digger. It was during this time that we encountered poor service from existing companies, inspiring us to source our own skips.

After purpose focused conversions of buildings and obtaining permission to tip inert material and the construction of a waste transfer station on our Trefullock site, we were ready to open for business!

Through our experience of working in the building trade it was apparent that in order to run an efficient skip business, we needed to answer our clients needs and demands. Knowing first hand the importance of minimising the costs of relocation and disposal. We developed new methods through practice on how best to deliver a fast and efficient service. By providing such an excellent service we found ourselves not having enough time to continue in the construction and joinery business, and decided to specialise in waste management.

When we opened our gates to receive waste, we were the first independent company to do so in Cornwall. In fact, we have always run the business as we do now. We now run eight lorries, screening and loading machines of various types and an impressive new addition of a steel waste transfer station building.

We have contacts in the construction, haulage, woodland management, demolition, and agricultural industries. In short, if we can’t do it, we know the right people to get the job done.

We are fully licensed to carry, receive and process waste. With a recycling rate of between 67-70% means our customers can rest assured in the knowledge that all waste that we process is hand sorted and recycled. Nothing is ever taken from site to landfill, it is processed on site. Our no-nonsense attitude and professional work practice means we trust nothing to fate with regards to waste co-mingling.
