Cascade Steel Rolling Mills manufactures steel products such as reinforcing bar (rebar), coiled reinforcing bar, wire rod, merchant bar and other specialty products. At our state of the art mini-mill we take scrap metal and items that would otherwise be disposed of – old car parts, metal from demolished buildings, to name a few – and recycle them into reusable products.

Founded in 1968, Cascade Steel Rolling Mills is a state-of-the-art steel manufacturing facility that takes recycled metal and turns it into high-quality finished steel products. Located in McMinnville, OR (near Portland), our electric arc furnace (EAF) mini-mill produces a wide range of hot rolled products such as reinforcing bar (rebar), coiled reinforcing bar, wire rod, merchant bar and other specialty products.

Manufacturing Process

The steel manufacturing process at our McMinnville, OR facility begins when ferrous scrap metal arrives by rail car or truck and is unloaded by large overhead cranes.Scrap metal is loaded into a 'charge bucket' and brought into the melt shop where it will go through our two-step melting process.
