Arthur’s Skips was founded in 1994 by Arthur Hartley and his son, James. They began trading with just two vehicles and eight skips from premises at Warren Street, Sheffield. In 1996 Arthur’s Skips waste transfer station was set up at Stevenson Road. We worked from the two sites until 1998 when we outgrew those premises and moved to 302a Neepsend Lane.

In 2002 we became a Limited Company. In 2004 we purchased further land at Hobson Avenue and currently work from the two sites. Both sites are situated within two miles of Sheffield City Centre. We are currently in the process of re-licensing and changing the structure of our Hobson Avenue Site in anticipation of future growth. We currently have over 2000 skips in service.

Our £2m investment in Aggregate production, puts us alongside the fastest growing recycling companies in the country.

Our policy is to replace all skips after a maximum of 3 years use (or beforehand if found necessary). We have had no convictions and regularly pass our site inspections without issue. We have a good relationship with the Environment Agency and value any help and advice they are able to give us to assist with the smooth running of our operations.
