E Platt & Sons

Wellington Works, Waterloo St, Bolton, Greater Manchester, United Kingdom | Scrap Metal Recycling

E Platt & Sons was established in 1872 by Edward Platt and is still run by his descendants today.

The firm originated by collecting glass bottles and other bits of metal. Today we operate much differently; we buy all types of metals such as lead, brass, aluminum, stainless and copper. eg, copper tube, copper cylinders, braziery copper, bright copper wire etc. In addition to non ferrous metal, we also buy ferrous metals (steel & iron) at competitive prices.

Nowadays, E Platt & Sons occupy a large, purpose built scrap metal processing plant on Waterloo St, Bolton. Our systems comply with (and surpass) Environment Agency regulations regarding the storage and processing of material. These system are rigorously audited through random site and process inspections. We are members of the British Metal Recycling Association (BMRA), the Federation of Small Businesses and the Chambers of Commerce.

Edward’s great great great grandson’s still work at our Bolton Depot and are set to take over the business one day.
