Environment First Ltd offers the complete bespoke solution for all aspects of waste recycling, specialising in cardboard recycling, plastic recycling and fruit / vegetable waste.

A private limited company, Environment First Ltd was set up in 2001 and has strong links with its sister company Dan Mackelden Ltd which has been trading for over 60 years.

We are Environment Agency approved and have a waste transfer licence and all waste streams carry a duty of care note.

Our head office is ideally situated in the densely populated area of South East England, in the county of Kent, with the nearby M20 motorway ensuring good transport links throughout the region and the rest of the UK.

Our story extends back over 60 years

Our business roots can be traced back over 60 years from a family-run farming business. Today, Environment First Ltd still operates from the same location and is now run by the third generation.

In 2001, an opportunity for recycling waste within the agricultural business sector led to Environment First Ltd being formed. From there the business has grown to encompass a wide range of activities and offering a comprehensive recycling service for many businesses in Kent and South East England.

Today, Environment First Ltd still retains strong links with its sister company. We’ve inherited a strong desire to work with nature and not against it as well as a commitment to providing a friendly, personal service for all our customers.

We are registered with the Environment Agency as an Upper Tier Carrier Broker Dealer.  Our registration number is CBDU59204.  We are TASCC registered allowing us to haul bulk and packaged combinable crops, dry feed and moist feed materials.  Our FEMAS registration allows us to haul, collect and process surplus fruit and vegetable and sell on for animal feed.  We are also members of the Recycling Association.
