In 1945 Adolf Trillhof founded his sorting and trading company for scrap iron, metals, used textiles and paper in the north of Kassel on the city limits of Vellmar. Today the Trillhof Handelsgesellschaft is already in the third generation of the family, one of the leading companies in the areas of raw materials trading, recycling and disposal in North Hesse .

1945 - On August 2, the provisional chief and regional president of the province of Kurhessen granted Mr. Adolf Trillhof permission to set up a wholesaler with old and waste materials. Founding of the company Adolf Trillhof raw materials trading.

1982 - Change of name to Trillhof Handelsgesellschaft mbH.

1991 - The managing partner Michael Dresel acquires a 50% stake in Thüringen Recycling Erfurt GmbH. Its subsidiary Thüringen Recycling GmbH carries out the operative waste disposal and trading business at the Bad Langensalza, Erfurt and Weimar locations.

1996 - Introduction of a quality management system and certification according to DIN EN ISO 9001

1998- Certification according to §52 KrW- / AbfG as a waste management company

2004 - Establishment and expansion of the waste management department by taking over CTA - Containertransporte und Abfallwirtschaft GmbH, Vellmar. Trillhof has positioned itself as a complete disposal company and offers disposal services for almost all types of waste.

2012 - Trillhof is a sponsoring corporate partner of documenta 13, the world's most important exhibition for contemporary art, which takes place every five years in Kassel. For the 'Momentary Monuments IV' project by the Italian artist Lara Favaretto, Trillhof delivers over 400 tons of scrap and piles it up according to the artist's specifications. The largest work of art at documenta 13 attracts worldwide attention.
