Loacker Recycling was already working sustainably when the word sustainability didn't even exist. For more than 140 years, our company has been collecting, sorting and processing recyclable materials. Today the Loacker Recycling Group is present in 6 countries with around 40 facilities and around 1,300 employees and is one of the top players in the European waste management industry. History

ENVIRONMENTAL TECHNOLOGIES SINCE 1876

Anyone who thinks recycling is a young industry is wrong. Metal scraps were already being recycled and remelted in the Bronze Age. Not quite that far, but at least Loacker's corporate history goes back to 1876. At that time, the founder Katharina Loacker collected scrap in the Vorarlberg Rhine Valley. A cart pulled by a billy goat served as a vehicle. And probably also as an inspiration for the old village name 'Isabocker'. The company developed steadily, decade after decade. Waste disposal was added at the end of the 1960s. 1977 the waste paper trade. In 1986 the first shredder plant was put into operation. Environmental protection measures and logistics improved significantly in 2004.
