PreZero

Stiftsbergstrasse 1, Neckarsulm, Baden-Wxfcrttemberg, Germany | Waste Management

PreZero is one of the leading environmental service providers in Germany and Europe. At more than 90 locations, we offer the disposal of waste as well as the sorting and processing of recyclable materials. We already have our claim in our name: We want to conserve resources and reduce the amount of waste that cannot be recycled to zero - PreZero.

The history of PreZero is young - but with decades of experience

As the sales organization of GreenCycle, PreZero.com was created in 2018, an online platform on which customers can obtain an offer for the disposal of recyclable materials and waste of various fractions in real time.

Not foreseeable at this point in time: just a year later, the PreZero brand is to bundle all GreenCycle services in the area of waste and recycling management, from advice and disposal to further recycling.

At this point in time, GreenCycle can already look back on almost ten years of experience in recycling management. The company was originally founded within the Schwarz Group from Neckarsulm in Baden-Württemberg for the management of recyclable materials from Lidl, Kaufland and Schwarz Produktion.

The increasing know-how and the success of the recycling management in the Schwarz Group led to the expansion of the range of services to third parties.

At the same time as the PreZero brand was founded, the first talks about the takeover of the Tönsmeier Group took place.

The third-generation family-run disposal and recycling company from Porta Westfalica was founded in 1927 as a 'Bahnamtliche Spedition' and was commissioned in 1958 for the first time to carry out dust-free waste collection.

In the early 1990s, the first locations were opened in the new federal states and Tönsmeier did pioneering work for the newly created dual system in Germany.

The company's success was internationalized when Tönsmeier opened the first branch in Poland in 1996. In the 2000s, East Westphalia entered the plastics and wood recycling business. In 2005 a participation in GRN Glasrecycling followed, in 2006 and 2007 the two light packaging (LVP) sorting systems in Porta Westfalica and Oppin were put into operation.

After extensive renovations, the annual sorting capacity of the two systems is now around 240,000 tons. In 2010 the “Energie Anlage Bernburg” (now PreZero Energy) cogeneration plant opened.

PreZero is more than a waste disposal company and considers the entire recycling cycle and invests in a clean future. Therefore, several technical additions followed in 2019, such as the integration of the biogas plant operator Noll Biogas or the Lewedag company. With the participation of PreZero in the Kunststoff Recycling Grünstadt, PreZero 2020 made another important step on the way to a closed material cycle.

PreZero operates internationally

GreenCycle's international business in the field of waste and recycling management also operates under the PreZero brand to symbolize global unity. The company RMG Recycling, acquired in California (USA), was renamed PreZero US in 2019.

PreZero also uses the latest technology in other European countries. At the beginning of 2020, PreZero opened a fully automatic sorting system for light packaging with a capacity of up to 80,000 tons per year in Zwolle, the Netherlands. And Poland, too, recently enjoyed local growth with the Komart waste disposal company.
