The WEWATEC project was supported or promoted with grants from the Landesanstalt für Aufbaaufinanzierung from the programs 'Improvement of the regional economic structure' and 'Bavarian regional support programs 1996 for the commercial economy'.
The system works with a process in which all stages of production are combined under one roof, from the processing of the plastics used as raw materials to the finished part.
In Wackersdorf, WEWATEC produces high-quality goods such as finished parts and compounds from old plastics. These include, for example, hazardous goods pallets, protective plates, Euro pallets, carrier plates for solar modules and high-quality plastic compounds for use in the plastics processing industry. Both in the manufacture of the finished parts and the compounds, the delivered raw material is physically, mechanically and chemically converted in an intensive refinement process.
To manufacture the so-called compounds, which make up around 80% of WEWATEC's sales, the raw material is refined through cleaning, processing, filtering, degassing and compounding. In so-called compounding, additives such as chalk, paint and stabilizers are added to the raw material in order to achieve a substantial change or improvement in the starting raw material. In particular, in cooperation with various universities / technical colleges, the in-house laboratory develops new material recipes at the customer's request. The properties such as tensile strength, notch impact strength, flexural modulus of elasticity, moisture, flowability and the mechanical parameters are checked and modified accordingly by adding additives.
In the case of finished parts (around 20%) of sales, the refined raw material is placed in plastic molds, in which the individual molded parts are produced with the aid of hydraulic presses through pressure and molding tools. If necessary, several individual parts are processed again in welding machines and the fittings are welded together. So completely new plastic parts are manufactured. WEWATEC supplies customers in Germany, Switzerland, Italy, the Netherlands, Great Britain, Denmark, France, Poland, the Czech Republic and Belgium with their products.
