History of Gebroeders Bakker Metal Recycling
The first generation of Bakker, Auke Bakker, started in 1966 in Doetinchem and started demolishing cars, city buses and buying and selling scrap iron. Bakker Metaal Recycling was launched. It soon became apparent that Auke Bakker had the right knowledge to make the company a solid organization with regional fame.
In the 1970s, Auke Bakker's son manifested himself in the company. Willem Bakker was present at the company from childhood to provide father with the necessary hand and tension services. In addition to Auke, son Fedde Bakker also appeared to be interested in the profession. Willem and Fedde grew in their future role as business successors. In 1981, the business succession became a reality.
Willem and Fedde Bakker expanded Bakker Metal Recycling at a rapid pace. In addition to the demolition of cars, city buses and scrap iron, the purchase and sale of other metals was started. Was in these years ge ïinvested in the expansion of Bakker Metal Recycling. Willem Bakker's sons were involved in the company and it soon became apparent that the next generation had the right interest and the capabilities to carry out the profession. During this time Willem transferred his craftsmanship to his sons.
In 1996 it was the sons of Willem Bakker who took the helm and signed for the same challenge as their father. The business succession by Auke Bakker and Johan Bakker also created the need to look for a different location. The business site in Doetinchem was now too small and the clientele from the Arnhem region was also increasing.
Logically, a location in Arnhem was chosen to facilitate the extensive business activities. In addition to the move, the name was changed in Gebroeders Bakker Metaal Recycling. There are currently 12 employees working there.
Since the foundation of Bakker Metaal Recycling, the company has a rich history. Over the years, the company has grown annually and has grown from local business to a relevant national organization.
