Hrm Environmental Services: Over 25 Years Of Experience In Waste Processing

1983

Kees Hoeksema starts manually processing and sorting construction and demolition waste.

1988

Hoeksema buys a commercial property at the Feithspark in Tolbert. This was necessary because of the growth: more containers, trucks and personnel. HRM is adapting the sorting policy to process and transport the various waste materials more efficiently. The company adds mechanical waste processing.

1999

The environmental car appears on the streets of a number of municipalities in the north of the Netherlands. The car collects waste paper, peels and bottles. Later, the environmental bag will be added to separate plastic packaging material.

2000

HRM moves to Grootegast. There it is expanding its activities with municipal transfer station 'De Tweemat'. As a result, it is necessary to purchase a larger machine sorting machine, resulting in work for ten people.

2005

Ronald Hoeksema (son of Kees) opens thrift shop 'De Cirkel' in Boerakker. He runs the shop together with a permanent team of the 'De Zijlen' foundation, an organization for the reception and employment of people with a mental or physical disability. Customers can buy all kinds of second-hand products in the store: from clothing to stamps.

2009

Martijn Hoeksema (Kees' son) starts his own container transport company on 1 May. Martijn Hoeksema Transport .

HRM now employs seventy employees. They take care of the collection, sorting and processing of industrial and household waste. In that process HRM tries to relieve the (human) living environment as much as possible, with the motto that 80% of the waste deserves a second chance. According to the Hoeksema`s, HRM has not (yet) grown.
