Since it was founded in 1991 , we have provided tailor-made system services to more than 20,000 customers in all industries - with a turnover of around 723 million euros (2019). We employ 2,000 people at a total of 35 locations in 9 countries. Interseroh has been part of the international recycling specialist and raw material supplier ALBA Group since 2008 . We bundle our recycling know-how for the common vision: a future without waste.

History - the most important milestones

2019 : Just in time for the entry into force of the packaging law on January 1, 2019: After the successful launch of the online shop for packaging licensing Licero in summer 2018, the dual system Interseroh (DSI) is available to packaging marketers of various sizes with customized solutions.

Internationally, Interseroh is further expanding its range of services and is present with its environmental services in Austria , Slovenia , Poland , Croatia , the Czech Republic and Italy .

2018 : For the 11th time in a row, the Fraunhofer Institute UMSICHT has demonstrated the positive effects of recycling valuable materials. In addition, since 2018, companies have been able to optimize the recyclability of their packaging based on the new, scientifically based 'Made for Recycling' method. In 2018 , the SIMPLi RETURN GmbH joint venture was founded between Interseroh and Saubermacher AG , the first take-back and recycling system for lithium-ion batteries.

2017 : The online shop brandused.com goes live: used, refurbished IT devices or new, unused technology products from company sales or warehouse clearance sales are sold to end customers to enable the devices to have a second life cycle.

2016 : Interseroh writes 25 years of success. Thanks to the trust of our national and international customers, we have already been able to return more than 15 million tons of used packaging to the raw material cycle, thereby saving important resources. In addition, a new center of excellence for plastic recycling is opened in Maribor, Slovenia, and Encory, a 50:50 joint venture between the ALBA Group and the BMW Group for sustainable vehicle parts management, is founded.

2015 : Interseroh expands its sustainability reporting and launches the sustainability magazine, which is published annually from then on. The journalistically prepared publication presents Interseroh's best practices for sustainability - both in-house and in collaboration with customers.

2013 : Interseroh publishes its first sustainability report, which for the first time documents systematically in detail how its own processes and projects are designed in an environmentally and socially compatible manner. The report presents major developments and key figures for the years 2010 to 2012 and corresponds to the internationally valid guidelines of the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI).

2011 : The paint bucket of the toom hardware store brand is the first product on the market made from the recycled plastic Procyclen developed by Interseroh. The material used for the bucket was made almost 100 percent from plastic waste from the dual system collections.

2009 : Circuit for plastics: closed. Interseroh develops the multi-award-winning plastic recycling process Recycled-Resource.

2008 : Interseroh becomes part of the recycling specialist and raw material provider ALBA Group and supplements its portfolio with the combined know-how of the group.

2007 : The year of reusable pooling: Interseroh launches an innovative pooling solution for transport packaging.

2006 : Interseroh is the first competitor to receive Germany-wide approval as a dual system. The competition created in this way significantly increased the recycling rate of packaging waste.

2005 : Entry into the deposit business: Interseroh establishes a return system for one-way deposit containers and now maintains ten stationary counting centers nationwide as well as a mobile counting center (MZZ).

2000 : With Repasack, Interseroh offers a take-back and recycling system for kraft paper bags that is unique in Europe. The company is also committed to environmental education and starts the award-winning project 'Der Sammeldrache' to take back empty toner cartridges in schools and kindergartens.

1997 : Interseroh starts its international business with the establishment of the system operator INTERSEROH Austria GmbH in Austria. The following years were characterized by continuous expansion in other European countries.

1991 : starting signal. Interseroh's goal is initially to strengthen the recycling of packaging waste. Since then, Interseroh has expanded its portfolio as an international full-service environmental service provider and has set global standards for waste prevention, high-tech sorting and innovative recycling solutions.
