Aleris International is one of the world s largest recyclers of aluminum and zinc and one of North America s leading manufacturers of alloy sheet from recycled aluminum. The company has approximately 25 production plants in the United States and five international facilities in Brazil, Germany, Mexico and the United Kingdom. Its Ohio headquarters also houses the company s recycling business office. Aleris other business units include a specialty alloys and aluminum division, rolled products division, zinc division and international division. Aleris International was formed when Commonwealth Industries and IMCO Recycling merged in December 2004. This combination created a vertically integrated aluminum recycler and common-alloy sheet manufacturer with more than 3,200 employees. Aleris International has a location in Loudon, Tenn.
