History

In 1961, Frank Grimes and Tyler Kerr decided to pursue their own business. They founded G&K Machine Company to specialize in the machining and repair needs of the underground mining industry. Their company was met with great success, but not in the area they expected. Gear manufacturing became the turning point for them. They soon realized that this needed to be their main focus, turning it into the backbone of their young company. In the past five decades, our company has expanded, seeing three generations of well-trained ownership. In the 1980s, we added computer controlled equipment to our services, developing into a full-service job shop. Our growth and expansion has allowed us to serve almost any industry, from automotive to aerospace.
