Product Details:
New £1 Gold Proof Coin for England
Pride and heritage combine in a heraldic-influenced new series of gold Proof coins to celebrate30 years of the iconic £1 coin. First minted in 1983, the coin is now an essential part of everyday life within Britain, as well as being recognized as a major symbol of the nation all over the world.
The new 2013 £1 Flora Gold Proof Coin series contains four gold coins, each representing the four regions of the United Kingdom. The gold coin signifying England is the first in the series, and comes packaged with a display case to hold the coins that are still to be released. Once completed, the set shall include a £1 coin for Wales, which follows in mid-2013; and gold coins for Scotland and Northern Ireland that are due to be released in 2014. This set will undoubtedly be a fine representation of the glorious heritage of the United Kingdom. The case that will hold the coins is of superb quality and appearance, with the black interior brilliantly displaying the glistening gold of the coins.
The first coin to be released as part of the floral £1 coin series is the coin representing England. The floral design on the reverse of the coin was designed by Timothy Noad, and is the first of its kind. The emblems on the coins have been carefully chosen for their symbolism - the glory and majesty of the country is shown by the Rose, while the strength and integrity of its people is symbolised by the Oak. The coins in the set are the first floral-themed coins since the 1984 range, and are sure to repeat the success of that best-selling series.
Each of the 2013 floral £1 coins comes with its own Certificate of Authenticity to prove that it is of the highest gold Proof standard. Only 500 of these premium gold Proof coins are going to be released, and so they will make a fascinating and rare addition to any coin collection.
Alternatively, it is the perfect series with which to start a collection, or to give as a gift to a loved one. The Royal Mint offer a range of Floral £1 Coins to mark the occasion, so browse today to see how you can celebrate with these patriotic sets.
