April 15, 2025: Chinese Scrap Metal Prices Exhibited Mixed Trend on the Index
The price of #2 Copper Wire and Tubing also decreased by CNY 400 per MT.
BEIJING (Scrap Monster): The Chinese scrap metal prices recorded mixed trend on the ScrapMonster Price Index as of Thursday, March 13, 2025. Brass/Bronze, Copper and Aluminum scrap prices recorded decline over the previous day. In contrast, Stainless Steel scrap prices edged higher on the Index. Meanwhile, Steel scrap prices held steady.
Copper Scrap Prices
The #1 Copper Bare Bright prices dipped by CNY 400 per MT over the previous day.
#1 Copper Wire and Tubing too saw price decline of CNY 400 per MT.
The price of #2 Copper Wire and Tubing also decreased by CNY 400 per MT.
#1 Insulated Copper Wire 85% Recovery prices recorded a dip of CNY 200 per MT on the Index. The price of #2 Insulated Copper Wire 50% Recovery prices were down marginallyby CNY 50 per MT over the previous day.
Copper Transformer and Cu Yokes scrap prices held steady over the prior day’s prices.
Cu/Al Radiator prices dropped by CNY 50 per MT on the Index.
Harness Wire 35% Recovery prices were unmoved as of Tuesday, April 15, 2025.
Heater Cores prices were down by CNY 100 per MT on the Index.
In the meantime, Scrap Electric Motors and Sealed Units prices held steady on the Index.
Aluminum Scrap Prices
6063 Extrusions prices declined slightly by CNY 150 per MT over the previous day.
Aluminum Ingots also were down by CNY 150 per MT on the Index.
The prices of Aluminum Radiators and Aluminum Transformers recorded marginal decline by CNY 50 per MT each on the Index.
E.C Aluminum Wire prices dipped by CNY 150 per MT.
Old Cast and Old Sheet prices also witnessed decline by CNY 150 per MT each as of April 15, 2025.
The prices UBC and Zorba 90% INF inched lower by CNY 50 per MT each when compared with the previous day’s price.
Steel Scrap Prices
#1 HMS prices held steady as of Tuesday, April 15, 2025.
Cast Iron Scrap reported no change in prices.
Stainless Steel Scrap Prices
201 SS prices were flat on the Index.
304 SS Solid and 304 SS Turning were unchanged when compared with the previous day’s price.
309 SS and 316 SS Solid prices reported an increase of CNY 50 per MT each when compared with the prior day’s price.
310 SS scrap prices inched higher by CNY 100 per MT as of April 15, 2025.
Shred SS prices were flat on the Index.
Brass/Bronze Scrap Prices
The Brass/Bronze Scrap prices in China recorded decline on the Index.
Brass Radiator scrap prices were flat as of April 15, 2025.
Red Brass and Yellow Brass prices were down by CNY 50 per MT each when matched with the previous day’s prices.
