April 9, 2025-North American Scrap Metal Prices Dipped on the Index
Brass Radiator /Fe prices inched lower by $0.01 per Lb on the Index.
TORONTO (Scrap Monster): The North American copper scrap prices declined on the ScrapMonster Price Index as of Wednesday, April 9, 2025. Stainless Steel and Brass/Bronze scrap prices also recorded decline. Aluminum scrap prices fell over the previous day. Meanwhile, Steel scrap prices witnessed no change on the Index.
Alternator prices reported a decline of $0.01 per Lb on the Index.
The price of #1 Copper Wire and Tubing declined by $0.09 per Lb. #2 Copper Wire and Tubing prices were also down by $0.09 per Lb. The price of #1 Copper Bare Bright edged lower by $ 0.09 per Lb.
The #1 Insulated Copper Wire 85% Recovery prices were down by $0.02 per Lb over the previous day. #2 Insulated Copper Wire 50% Recovery prices also recorded a decline of $0.02 per Lb on the Index. #3 Copper-Light copper prices inched lower by $0.09 per Lb.
The prices of Copper Radiator scrap were down by $0.03 per Lb on the Index.
Copper Transformer Scrap prices dropped by $0.01 per Lb.
Cu Yokes prices inched lower by $0.01 per Lb over the previous day.
Cu/Al Radiator Ends prices were down by $0.01 per Lb.
Cu/Al Radiators and Cu/Al Radiators/Fe prices declined by $0.02 per Lb each as of April 9, 2025.
Harness Wire 35% Recovery, Heater Cores and Romex Wire prices dipped by $0.02 per Lb each over the day.
The prices of Scrap Electric Motors, Starters, Sealed units, and Xmas Lights reported declines by $0.01 per Lb each from the previous day's price levels.
1100 Scrap prices dropped by $0.02 per Lb over the day. The prices of 3003 Scrap also were down by $0.02 per Lb on the Index. The prices of 356 Aluminum Wheels and 6063 Extrusions/Fe declined by $0.02 per Lb each.
The prices of 6063 Extrusions witnessed a decline of $0.02 per Lb over the day.
Meanwhile, prices of 5052 Scrap and 6061 Extrusions were down by $0.02 per Lb each when compared with the prior day.
The prices of Al/Cu Radiators and Al/Cu Radiators/Fe fell by $0.02 per Lb each over the day. Aluminum Radiators and Aluminum Radiators/Fe prices held steady on the Index. Aluminum Transformers prices also were flat over the previous day’s prices. Breakage 50% Recovery prices dropped by $0.01 per Lb as of Wednesday, April 9, 2025.
E.C Aluminum Wire prices edged lower by $0.03 per Lb on the Index.
Chrome Wheels, Litho Sheets, and MLC Clips prices were down by $0.02 per Lb compared with previous day’s price levels.
Mixed Aluminum Turnings prices also dropped by $0.01 per Lb.
The prices of Old Cast and UBC reported declines by $0.02 per Lb each over the previous day.
Old Sheet, Painted Siding, and Zorba 90% NF prices also went down by $0.02 per Lb each.
#1 Bundle prices recorded no change.
The prices of #1 Busheling and #1 HMS reported no change as of April 9, 2025.
HMS 80/20 prices held steady on the Index.
Sheet Metal and Structural Steel also saw no change in prices when compared with the previous day.
Shredded Auto Scrap prices were flat on the Index.
201 SS prices held steady on the Index.
301 SS prices reported a decline of $0.01 per Lb each.
304 SS Solid prices were down by $0.01 per Lb over the previous day.
304 SS Turning prices dipped by $0.01 per Lb as of Wednesday, April 9, 2025.
309 SS and 310 SS prices decreased by $0.01 per Lb and $0.02 per Lb respectively from the previous day.
330 SS prices were down by $0.03 per Lb from the prior day.
In the meantime, 316 SS Solid prices also dipped by $0.01 per Lb on the Index.
The Brass/Bronze Scrap prices in the North American region witnessed decline on the Index.
70/30 Brass Scrap, 80/20 Brass Scrap, 85/15 Brass Scrap, and Brass Radiator scrap prices were down by $0.02 per Lb as of Wednesday, April 9, 2025.
Brass Radiator /Fe prices inched lower by $0.01 per Lb on the Index.
Brass Radiator Ends prices were flat over the previous day's price levels.
Red Brass, Red Borings and Yellow Brass prices recorded decline by $0.02 per Lb on the Index.
