March 27, 2025: Chinese Copper Scrap Prices Fall, Aluminum Scrap Rises on the Index

#1 Copper Wire and Tubing too saw price decline of CNY 400 per MT.

BEIJING (Scrap Monster): The Chinese scrap metal prices recorded mixed trend on the ScrapMonster Price Index  as of Thursday, March 27, 2025. Copper and Brass/Bronze scrap prices recorded decline over the previous day. In contrast, Aluminum scrap prices edged higher on the Index. Meanwhile, Stainless Steel and Steel scrap prices held steady.

Copper Scrap Prices

The #1 Copper Bare Bright prices dipped by CNY 400 per MT over the previous day.

#1 Copper Wire and Tubing too saw price decline of CNY 400 per MT.

The price of #2 Copper Wire and Tubing also decreased by CNY 400 per MT.

#1 Insulated Copper Wire 85% Recovery prices recorded a decline of CNY 200 per MT on the Index. The price of #2 Insulated Copper Wire 50% Recovery prices were down by CNY 50 per MT over the previous day.

Copper Transformer scrap prices recorded no change over the prior day’s prices.

Cu Yokes and Harness Wire 35% Recovery prices held steady on the Index.

Cu/Al Radiator prices were down by CNY 50 per MT.

Heater Cores prices were down by CNY 100 per MT as of Thursday, March 27, 2025.

Meanwhile, Scrap Electric Motors and Sealed Units prices were flat on the Index.

Aluminum Scrap Prices

6063 Extrusions witnessed an increase of CNY 100 per MT over the previous day.

Aluminum Ingots also were up by CNY 100 per MT on the Index.

The prices of Aluminum Radiators and Aluminum Transformers jumped by CNY 50 per MT on the Index.

E.C Aluminum Wire prices edged higher by CNY 100 per MT.

Old Cast and Old Sheet prices also witnessed an increase of CNY 100 per MT each as of March 27, 2025.

The prices UBC and Zorba 90% INF increased by CNY 50 per MT each when compared with the previous day’s price.

Steel Scrap Prices

#1 HMS prices held steady as of Thursday, March 27, 2025.

Cast Iron Scrap reported no change in prices.

Stainless Steel Scrap Prices

201 SS prices were flat on the Index.

304 SS Solid prices were unchanged over the previous day.

The price of 304 SS Turning held steady when compared with the previous day’s price.

309 SS and 316 SS Solid prices reported no change when compared with the prior day’s price.

310 SS scrap prices held steady as of March 27, 2025.

Shred SS prices reported no variation on the Index.

Brass/Bronze Scrap Prices

The Brass/Bronze Scrap prices in China recorded decline on the Index.

Brass Radiator scrap prices were flat as of March 27, 2025.

Red Brass and Yellow Brass prices edged lower by CNY 50 per MT each when matched with the previous day’s prices.
