March 25, 2025: Chinese Scrap Metal Prices Recorded Mixed Trend on the Index

The price of #2 Copper Wire and Tubing also were up by CNY 100 per MT.

BEIJING (Scrap Monster): The Chinese scrap metal prices recorded mixed trend on the ScrapMonster Price Index  as of Tuesday, March 25, 2025. Copper scrap prices recorded increase over the previous day. Aluminum scrap prices edged lower on the Index. In contrast, Brass/Bronze, Stainless Steel and Steel scrap prices held steady.

Copper Scrap Prices

The #1 Copper Bare Bright prices edged higher by CNY 100 per MT over the previous day.

#1 Copper Wire and Tubing too saw price increase of CNY 100 per MT.

The price of #2 Copper Wire and Tubing also were up by CNY 100 per MT.

#1 Insulated Copper Wire 85% Recovery prices recorded increase by CNY 50 per MT on the Index. The price of #2 Insulated Copper Wire 50% Recovery prices were unchanged over the previous day.

Copper Transformer scrap prices were unchanged over the prior day’s prices.

Cu Yokes and Cu/Al Radiator prices were flat on the Index.

Harness Wire 35% Recovery prices held steady as of Tuesday, March 25, 2025.

Also, Heater Cores, Scrap Electric Motors, and Sealed Units prices held steady on the Index.

Aluminum Scrap Prices

6063 Extrusions witnessed a decline of CNY 50 per MT over the previous day.

Aluminum Ingots too were down by CNY 50 per MT.

The prices of Aluminum Radiators and Aluminum Transformers witnessed no change on the Index.

E.C Aluminum Wire prices were down by CNY 50 per MT.

Old Cast and Old Sheet prices also declined by CNY 50 per MT each as of March 25, 2025.

The prices UBC and Zorba 90% INF recorded no change when compared with the previous day’s price.

Steel Scrap Prices

#1 HMS prices held steady as of Tuesday, March 25, 2025.

Cast Iron Scrap reported no change in prices.

Stainless Steel Scrap Prices

201 SS prices witnessed no variation on the Index.

304 SS Solid prices also were unchanged over the previous day.

The price of 304 SS Turning were flat on the Index.

309 SS and 316 SS Solid prices held steady when compared with the prior day’s price.

310 SS scrap prices did not change as of March 25, 2025.

Shred SS prices also held steady on the Index.

Brass/Bronze Scrap Prices

The Brass/Bronze Scrap prices in China recorded no change.

Brass Radiator scrap prices were unchanged as of March 25, 2025.

Red Brass and Yellow Brass prices were flat on the Index.
