March 13, 2025: Chinese Scrap Metal Prices Exhibited Mixed Trend on the Index
304 SS Solid prices increased by CNY 50 per MT over the previous day.
BEIJING (Scrap Monster): The Chinese scrap metal prices recorded mixed trend on the ScrapMonster Price Index as of Thursday, March 13, 2025. Copper and Aluminum scrap prices recorded decline over the previous day. In contrast, Stainless Steel scrap prices edged higher on the Index. Meanwhile, Brass/Bronze and Steel scrap prices held steady.
Copper Scrap Prices
The #1 Copper Bare Bright prices dipped by CNY 50 per MT over the previous day.
#1 Copper Wire and Tubing too saw price decline of CNY 50 per MT.
The price of #2 Copper Wire and Tubing also decreased by CNY 50 per MT.
#1 Insulated Copper Wire 85% Recovery prices recorded no change on the Index. The price of #2 Insulated Copper Wire 50% Recovery prices were flat over the previous day.
Copper Transformer scrap prices held steady over the prior day’s prices.
Cu Yokes and Cu/Al Radiator prices witnessed no change on the Index.
Harness Wire 35% Recovery prices were unmoved as of Thursday, March 13, 2025.
Heater Cores prices were flat on the Index.
Also, Scrap Electric Motors and Sealed Units prices held steady on the Index.
Aluminum Scrap Prices
6063 Extrusions prices declined slightly by CNY 50 per MT over the previous day.
Aluminum Ingots also were down by CNY 50 per MT on the Index.
The prices of Aluminum Radiators and Aluminum Transformers recorded no variation on the Index.
E.C Aluminum Wire prices dipped by CNY 50 per MT.
Old Cast and Old Sheet prices also witnessed decline by CNY 50 per MT each as of March 13, 2025.
The prices UBC and Zorba 90% INF remained flat when compared with the previous day’s price.
Steel Scrap Prices
#1 HMS prices held steady as of Thursday, March 13, 2025.
Cast Iron Scrap reported no change in prices.
Stainless Steel Scrap Prices
201 SS prices were flat on the Index.
304 SS Solid prices increased by CNY 50 per MT over the previous day.
The price of 304 SS Turning were up marginally by CNY 50 per MT when compared with the previous day’s price.
309 SS and 316 SS Solid prices reported an increase of CNY 100 per MT each when compared with the prior day’s price.
310 SS scrap prices inched higher by CNY 150 per MT as of March 13, 2025.
Shred SS prices jumped by CNY 50 per MT on the Index.
Brass/Bronze Scrap Prices
The Brass/Bronze Scrap prices in China recorded no change on the Index.
Brass Radiator scrap prices were flat as of March 13, 2025.
Red Brass and Yellow Brass prices were unchanged when matched with the previous day’s prices.
