Aluminum Scrap Prices: Weekly Market Report- January 10, 2025
The Aluminum ingots prices also witnessed a jump of 1.68% from the prior week’s prices.
SEATTLE (Scrap Monster): The weekly trend in aluminium scrap prices across worldwide aluminum scrap metal markets for the past one-week period (January 3, 2025 to January 9, 2025) on the Scrap Monster Price Index are provided below:
The regional aluminum scrap prices mostly remained unchanged over the prior week. However, a few commodities recorded increase.
The prices of 6063 Extrusions, Aluminum Radiators, and E.C. Aluminum Wire were flat on the Index.
Litho Sheets, Painted Siding, 1100 Scrap, and 3003 Scrap prices also witnessed no change from the prior week.
There was no variation in prices of 356 Aluminum Wheels (Clean) and 5052 Scrap during the week ended January 9, 2025.
Also, the prices of 6063 Extrusions, 6063 Extrusions/Fe, Aluminum Radiators/Fe, Aluminum Transformers, Breakage 50% Recovery, and Chrome Wheels held steady on the Index.
No change in price was seen in Mixed Aluminum Turnings, MLC Clips, Old Cast, Old Sheet, UBC, and Zorba 90% NF.
In the meantime, the prices of Al/Cu Radiators/Fe recorded a marginal increase of 2.01% on the Index. The commodity’s prices edged higher from $1.49 per Lb to $1.52 per Lb week-on-week. The chart below represents the price movement in Al/Cu Radiators/Fe during the past week:
Also, Al/Cu Radiators prices were up by 1.76% during the previous week.
The regional scrap aluminum prices recorded no variation in prices, except for a few categories.
The only scrap commodities to report change during the week were Al/Cu Radiators and Al/Cu Radiators/Fe. The Al/Cu Radiators prices ended the week at $1.73 per Lb, rising by $0.03 per Lb or 1.76% from $1.70 per Lb at the start of the week. Also, Al/Cu Radiators/Fe prices recorded a jump of 2.0% during the week, rising from $1.49 per Lb to $1.52 per Lb.
The prices of all other scrap aluminum commodities in the region held steady.
Only two commodities- Al/Cu Radiators and Al/Cu Radiators/Fe witnessed jump in prices during the week ended January 9, 2025.
The prices of all other commodities were flat on the Index.
The largest increase in prices was recorded in Al/Cu Radiators/Fe. The prices of the commodity edged higher by 2.04%. Also, Al/Cu Radiators witnessed a weekly gain of 1.79%. The prices inched higher by $0.03 per Lb, from $1.68 per Lb to $1.71 per Lb.

Meanwhile, the prices of Al/Cu Radiators/Fe recorded a marginal increase of 1.99% on the Index. The commodity’s prices edged higher from $1.51 per Lb to $1.54 per Lb week-on-week.
Also, Al/Cu Radiators prices were up by 1.74%, to end at $1.75 per Lb during the previous week.
The aluminum scrap commodities in the region reported mixed trend in prices during the week ending January 9, 2025.
Aluminum Transformers and Aluminum Radiators recorded biggest decline in prices.
The prices of Aluminum Transformers were down by 0.562% during the week. The below chart depicts the weekly price variation in the prices of the commodity.
Also Aluminum Radiators registered a decline of 0.53% week-on-week, ending at CNY 9,450 per MT on the Index.
UBC and Zorba 90% NF prices also registered marginal declines.
In the meantime, 6063 Extrusions, E.C. Aluminum Wire, Old Cast, Old Sheet and Aluminum Ingots prices held steady when compared with the week before.
The Aluminum utensil scrap prices were up by 1.75% week-on-week, closing at INR 233,000 per Ton on the ScrapMonster Index. The weekly price chart of Aluminum utensil scrap is provided below:
The Aluminum ingots prices also witnessed a jump of 1.68% from the prior week’s prices.
The prices of all aluminium scrap categories (Aluminum Cuttings, Mixed Aluminum Turnings, Old Cast and UBC) witnessed no change during the week.
LME Aluminum Market Update
The closing price of LME Aluminum 3-Month contract stood at USD 2,533.00 per tonne as of January 9, 2025. The LME Aluminum Cash Settlement contract recorded marginal increase from $2,474.00 a day before to $2,502.50 per tonne.
The LME Aluminum stocks declined modestly over the previous day to close at 619,275 tonnes as of January 9, 2025, as compared with 621,775 tonnes a day before.
