Canadian Miner Declared Commercial Production at Morocco Mine
According to the news announcement, the mill throughput averaged 1,834 tpd between December 19 and 29.
SEATTLE (Scrap Monster): Canada-based Aya Gold & Silver Inc. announced that it has achieved commercial production at its high-grade Zgounder Silver Mine located in the Kingdom of Morocco.
Less than two months after the first ore was processed, on December 29, 2024, the mine achieved commercial production, according to a corporate news release. It should be mentioned that on November 4, 2024, the Zgounder mill began processing ore for the first time. On November 27th, the processing unit accomplished its first pour of silver.
The new mill processed 45,683 tonnes of ore in the month that ended on December 29th. At 75% availability, the average processing rate was 84 tons per hour. 76% of the mill's nameplate capacity, or 1,523 tons, were processed daily on average. Additionally, a 79% recovery rate for silver was reported. According to the news announcement, the mill throughput averaged 1,834 tpd between December 19 and 29.
Benoit La Salle, President and CEO of Aya Gold & Silver Inc., commented on the historic accomplishment, saying he is pleased to announce that commercial production at the mine has begun and was finished on schedule.
